Dear friends,
Missionaries will tell you that furlough is not a vacation.  During this last month, the Lord has led me to four continents as I traveled to preach and teach God’s amazing Word.  Along the way, He gave me the privilege of proclaiming the Gospel.  It is amazing how many people all around are just waiting for someone to tell them how to be saved!

Liz works as a receptionist at a hotel where I stayed.  One evening, I overheard her talking to a guest that was checking in at the front desk.  He told her that he was a practicing witch, and she smiled and told him that she had studied about witchcraft in a class in college.  After the man walked away, I approached Liz and asked her if she knew for sure that she would be in heaven when she died.  She answered: “I don’t think anyone can know that.”  Beginning with her spiritual condition as a sinner, I showed her from the Bible how to be saved.  There were tears running down her eyes as she said this: “Thank you for telling me this … but I’m not quite ready.”  Oh, that God would open the eyes of those blinded by their sin.

We are so grateful to partner with you in the Lord’s work. Please continue to pray as we travel to preach and teach God’s Word, that souls would be saved, and that many would follow the Lord’s direction to become missionaries and Bible translators.

In Christ’s love,
Bill Patterson

PS  A few weeks ago, we learned that Ganpurev is in preparation to be ordained as a preacher.  He has worked with Missionary Jeff Dean for many years, and is a good preacher.  If the Lord allows, I would like to go to Mongolia in early March to be a part of the ordination service, as well as find an apartment to rent for our return next June.  For that trip, I will need $3,000.  Please pray for God’s will to be done.
