Dear Friends of Zion:
Gratitude fills our hearts for your faithful prayers and offerings that help make our work possible.
A fall that broke my left arm on Friday, April 27, just as Brazil was beginning a long holiday weekend, has changed my lifestyle for a few weeks! Multiple fragmentation of the bones in my left wrist made emergency surgery necessary, but the prolonged holiday and hassles with the Brazilian insurance company delayed the surgery an entire week! The Lord led us to an excellent, efficient young orthopedic surgeon, and I was able to get the best care available. The doctor says the titanium plate (or plaque) inserted in my wrist should restore its usage 100%, which I have not had since a previous fall in l995. So, out of bad can come good! The medical plan covered all expenses, praise the Lord.
All of this opened doors for many opportunities to witness and give tracts. On my last day in the hospital, a nurse professed faith in Christ. She was the first to whom I gave a white New Testament, “hot off the press.” Our son, Harold Ralph, designed a brand new series of eight New Testaments with Psalms and Proverbs in different colors for specific professions or groups: Classic black, medical personnel, firemen, policemen, airmen, soldiers, girls and boys, a total printing of 125,000. Harold Ralph’s degrees in Graphic Design and Advertising/Public Relations from Pensacola Christian College, plus his Master of Arts in Bible Exposition from the Seminary, are continuing to be immensely beneficial in every aspect of the advancement and development of Trinitarian Bible Society of Brazil. Printing in larger numbers makes it possible to lower our prices for the consumer and helps us get Bibles displayed and on sale even in secular book stores and department stores.
Pastors Alexandre, Ricardo and Wellington are back from their month-long visit to Israel. Three evenings during Passover week, Pastor Alexandre was in the home of an unsaved Brazilian Jewish family who lives in Israel. He explained the elements of the Passover and how they represent Jesus, the Messiah, who shed His blood for our sins. Amazed but doubtful, they were definitely impacted with the Gospel message!
The Lord has provided a loan with affordable payments and no interest so we can buy an adequate vehicle for our work. Thanks to those who prayed and gave for this need. May God bless you all.
Yours for the Messiah,
Tom and Linda Glimmer
