Dear Pastor and Brethren:

…  Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?” (Luke 24:32)

We spent five days in the Northeast of Brazil fellowshipping with fundamentalist Baptist believers from all over the country. We left these meetings with a renewed spirit, and with more desire to do the work of the Lord. God used men like Dr. Jimmy Rose and Dr. Roger Green to speak to our hearts about the importance of Missions and Spiritual Revival. We spent five days in a small piece of Heaven. Praise the Lord!

From August 1st through the 6th, we are receiving Pastor Nathan Deatrick from Ambassador Baptist Bible College. He is bringing four young men from the States on a mission trip. He will be preaching at a three-day youth conference at our first church. Prior to his coming, we are holding special prayer meetings on behalf of this conference, and passing out 5,000 flyers inviting people to attend these services. Pastor Deatrick is planting a dynamic church in North Carolina. We pray that his short visit will produce eternal fruits in Brazil. He will also visit our fourth church while he is in the country.

Rom writes a column for the Jornal de Apoio, a monthly fundamentalist Baptist periodical in Brazil. Lately he has been writing about the danger of religious persecution in our country, especially if our government approves two new laws: one which would prohibit any kind of criticism against homosexualism, and the other which would prohibit parents from using any kind of corporal punishment. Both laws would be punishable with three to five years of imprisonment. These projects have not been approved yet, but we are trying to alert the people of God of these dangers since the media is not informing people of how these laws would affect our religious freedom and the family.

Hopefully, many souls will be saved in the month of August, and we will let you know in our next letter. Thank you for the love offering you sent to us.

In His Perfect Love,
Rom, Rachel, Rochelle & Roxanne Ribeiro
