hThe Yant Family
Led by the Lord and directed by our pastors, we joined MABMI this year. Our family is planting Spanish churches in the Pacific Northwest as an extension of my father’s ministry. Before promoting “Project Samaria” in August of 2011, we served for eleven years under the ministry of Pastor Emeritus William Yant, my father, and Senior Pastor Dr. John Paisley of Riverview Baptist Church in Pasco, Washington.
This year the Lord has enabled us to start two Spanish works in Oregon’s Tualatin Valley, and we are enthusiastic about the prospect of two more churches being planted by the spring of 2013.
My wife and I along with our six children came to Beaverton, Oregon, in March of 2012 to begin visiting Spanish families. Searching for a place to congregate, the Lord led us to Westgate Baptist Church in Tigard, Oregon, where Senior Pastor Ben Jaquith and his congregation had been praying about a Spanish ministry. WBC’s recent move to a larger facility had left their former building open for an extended ministry. After five weeks of promotion, the first WBC Spanish service was held on April 22, 2012.

Two months later, the Lord brought Caleb Davis to assist us as he prepared to begin the next Spanish work with Pastor Gil Hansen of Mount View Baptist Temple. On November 11, 2012, the second Spanish church was planted in Tualatin, Oregon. Praise the Lord!
This past November, the Lord sent two Hispanic preachers who share this same vision and desire to see a church planted in Hillsboro and Salem, Oregon. Presently, arrangements are being made for both churches to be established by the spring of 2013.
Burdened by the need of a fundamental, independent Baptist Spanish church in over fifty cities across the Northwest, we continue to pray for the Lord to raise up pastors who would join us in the effort to reach the Spanish people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our family covets your prayers as we continue planting Spanish churches in our “Samaria.”
