Bill Patterson: October 2013 Prayer Letter
Dear Praying Friends:
Your prayers are vitally important to us. Time and again, during this last month, we have seen how God is answering your prayers. Please keep praying for us, for God to open doors, and that we may be faithful.
Training of Bible Translators A request came last month from Seoul, Korea to train a select group of pastors in “Principles of Bible Translation.” Since I was already planning to travel through Korea in November, this required changing the itinerary, but everything worked out beautifully. Please pray as I will meet with them on November 14-15 for two days of intense teaching. Just two days ago, I was asked by a Bible college to give this same training to their students in the summer of 2014. Praise the Lord for open doors, and for those who have a burden for Bible translation!
Traveling Mercies By God’s grace, He has provided financially for all three trips to Mongolia! We are very grateful for protection in our travels as well. In the last month, I have traveled over forty thousand miles, crossing the Pacific Ocean four times. The Lord allowed me to present the Gospel to a number of fellow travelers, two of them were very interested, but did not make a decision for salvation.
Mongolian Project Update September was the most productive month of Bible translation that we have ever enjoyed. In seventeen days of translation, the Lord allowed us to finish the Gospel of Mark! The Lord’s hand of blessing was evident as we worked. Over and over, we were amazed at how God helped us to understand the verses and translate them correctly into Mongolian. It was awesome!
In Christ’s love,
Bill Patterson
PS It is such a blessing to see souls saved! During the past month, Marcy has led four teenagers to the Lord. We have had the opportunity to witness to many others as well. The Lord has also allowed us to visit a number of churches where souls are being saved on a daily basis. May we be faithful to proclaim the Truth of Christ to those that wait in darkness!
