Dear Pastor and friends,

As I sat in a village church last Sunday, I was praising the Lord for what He has done in the area around Tlapa in the past fifty-seven years. When my parents, Ralph and Katherine McCoy, and my brother, Lyle McCoy and his family, moved here, we knew of one Christian. Besides the thriving church in Tlapa. This last Sunday, Brother Rodolfo Pinzon and the Grace Baptist Church of Alpoyeca celebrated their seventeenth anniversary. Brother Rodolfo was one of six alumni from the children’s home in the service that day.

I am so thankful for the library so many of you have made possible for the children’s home. The older children have been especially excited about reading Christian biographies. For some of them, this was the first book they had ever read. Since we had and outbreak of chickenpox a month ago, one of the girls read a biography a day as she recuperated. She told me God has touched her heart through reading these books, and she feels He is calling her to be a missionary. Glory to God! Also, I often read a fun book to the little children after recess. They love it! Thank you for helping this dream of mine come true

Last Saturday, I visited our farm and I could not stop crying! The devastation is horrific. We had a group prayer and asked God what He wants us to do with His land. That is all I know to do now, just pray and trust the Lord. Isaiah 50:10. The ground is covered in rocks, gravel, and sand. Most of the fruit trees have been destroyed, although I think we will have an abundant mango harvest.

Manuel and Isabel are broken-hearted for both the farm and their home. They have an apartment at the children’s home and their presence is a true blessing. Manuel is a civil engineer and he is teaching math in the school. He also attends meetings with the local farmers and government officials to see what can be done to control the river. Please continue to help us pray.
