Becky Patterson and the Bethesda Homes : July 2025 Newsletter

Mrs. Becky Patterson – Missionary to Mexico
Bethesda Children’s Homes – Tlapa, Mexico

Dear Pastor and friends,

“Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance…” (Psalm 2:8a) was my late husband Mike Patterson’s life verse for the last twenty years of his life. We are so thrilled to see men and women, boys and girls come to the Lord through the ministries of the Bethesda Children’s Home in Tlapa and the mountain churches started since 1969.

One of those churches, in Plan de Guadalupe, had a conference in April. The town has a population of two hundred twenty people attended the services from twenty mountain churches. They had a loud speaker and I was told everyone in town could here the sermons! Six people were saved and seven young people dedicated their lives to serve the Lord. God has blessed this tiny church through the years. Today we have five teachers at Bethesda who came from this church. Two of the assistant pastors of the Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Tlapa, the church associated with the Homes, are also from the Plan de Guadalupe church. God is so good!

The day after graduation in June, the teachers at Bethesda started preparations for the fall semester. Putting up drywall for a new classroom and painting the classrooms and chapel are just a few of the things undertaken. Our faithful staff are taking turns between vacation time and working at the Homes this summer. When the children are present, our jobs are 24/7. No one gets a weekly day off. The work at the Homes is rewarding, but it is also physically taxing. We all need some time during the summer to unwind.

Repairs needed on a children’s home vehicle, which we call an estaquitas, are now complete. Brother Miguel Blancas told me he drove it, and it is like a new little truck. We are so grateful! Thank you for your prayers and offerings for this need.

I praise the Lord that I was able to have a mini family reunion in June with some of my dear children and grandchildren. It was totally unplanned, but God worked it out so that the only time twenty of my family could see me all summer was all during the same week. Sadly eight were not able to come. We had a great time and it was a balm to my soul. I love the ministry God has so graciously given me, but I also love my family! God is so good to me!

Thank you for your prayers and faithful support. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Because He first loved us,
Becky Patterson
