Harold and Lílian Gilmer : May 2023 Prayer Letter
Harold and Lilian Gilmer – South America Director, Church Planter and Bible Translation in São Paulo, Brazil
Dear Brethren:
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think . . .” (Eph. 3:20a). Time to Celebrate We just celebrated the sixth anniversary of our Congregation, which happens to fall right on my birthday (April 30th). I was asked if the choice of that date was intentional, and the answer is no, it was not intentional, but six years ago I received the best birthday present ever with the start of the Congregation. Rejoice with us, eight people called on the Lord for salvation last month.
Still Counting!
I requested from the Trinitarian Bible Society of England the distribution figures prior to 2011, at the request of my father, Dr. Tom Gilmer. By God´s Amazing Grace, the number of Bibles, New Testaments and individual Bible App users is over 220 million since the first Portuguese New Testament was printed 50 years ago, in 1973 (not “merely” over 100 million, as I stated last month, with the figures I had on hand). An additional 128.319.665 Portuguese New Testaments were distributed from 1983 to 2010. Truly, He “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Eph. 3:20a). To God be the glory!
Bible Distribution Fund Dried Up
I am very happy to inform that our Bible Distribution Fund is dried up, because we gave it all away. : )
As the Lord provides, we supply Bibles, New Testaments, Gospels and Scripture Portions to those in need. By God´s grace we have never turned anyone away who requested a Bible. (Care is taken to insure that those who request Scriptures for Evangelism purposes hold our same doctrinal beliefs.) Can you help us replenish our Bible Distribution Fund? Thank you for helping us get the Word out.
Special Thank You!
A very special Thank You to Graceway Baptist Church and to Temple Baptist Church for taking us on for support. Our support level is now right at 70%. The Lord provides!
Yours fellow servants in Brazil,
Harold, Lílian, Raphael and Danielle
