Becky Patterson and the Bethesda Homes – March 2025 Newsletter

Mrs. Becky Patterson – Missionary to Mexico
Bethesda Children’s Homes – Tlapa, Mexico

Dear Pastor and friends,

“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless his holy name.” Psalm 103:1. It is so good to be back in Tlapa! I can hardly walk across the courtyard without getting numerous hugs. I thank the Lord for the privilege of serving Him here.

More than anytime I can remember, I have received expressions of gratitude from the Mexican Christians for our ministry among them. Meals have been prepared in my honor. Visitors with bouquets of flowers and gifts have come to my door. A lady at church handed me a beautifully handcrafted bag for my Bible and notebook. Another lady handed me a large pumpkin from her garden.

Earlier this week, nine ladies came to encourage me. Six of them had grown up in the children’s home. The other three had come to know the Lord one way or another because of the children’s home. The six told me how they had gotten away from the Lord for a while, but the Lord brought them back. How they wish my Mother could see them now! They encouraged me to never give up on these children, that it was an honor to have me here. They hope I can spend many more years serving in Tlapa. I agreed with them! Yes, their visit and the Lord have greatly encouraged me!

Brother Rodolfo Pinzon spent years at the Bethesda Homes and is now pastoring a church in a villege close to Tlapa. Last Saturday he brought a group from his church, including two former students from the Homes, to spend time at the boys’ home. They brought food for two meals. They played games with the kids. Then, they gave testimonies about being in the Homes and encouraging the kids to stay faithful to the Lord. Next Saturday they will repeat the same activity with the girls, only this time two other mountain pastors will be with them. My prayer is the kids will never forget these moments. I also pray they will be encouraged to be steadfast in the Lord!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Psalm 103:2. This work belongs to the Lord1 He is so good to us! It is a privilege to have a small part in what He is doing. Thank you for your prayers and support. We are a team. We cannot do this by ourselves. I am so thankful for each of you!

P.S. Please continue to pray for our farm. Investigation about getting the river back on course is being made by the local landowners. Thank you for praying.

Because He first loved us,
Becky Patterson
