Mike Patterson: January 2013 Prayer Letter
Dear Ones:
On December 27, Becky and I celebrated our forty-third wedding anniversary. We remain sweethearts and rejoice in serving together.
My Aaron and Hur in the Mission
Vice-Presidents, Dr. Bill Patterson and Dr. Steve Volante, are sharing my load. Steve has spent three months in preparation for the conference. Bill will join us for conference week. We have grown from eight to well over 100 families. At times the load is crushing. My most productive years may yet be ahead, but I must prioritize.
Conference Ministry
My special joy is helping churches with their Faith Promise Conferences. Our Lord has chosen to bless in all of it. We have seen millions of dollars raised for the Lord’s work and thousands surrendering for the fields.
Our Five Children
Our kids are scattered over the world, but they all are active in His service. It was a miracle in February; they joined us in Cuernavaca for a family conference in our own church. God rained blessings. The church heaped many undeserved honors including naming the auditorium in my honor. It was just wonderful.
The Tlapa Children’s Homes
In so many ways the children of the mountains have become like our own. Seeing the homes grow and flourish under the Hand of God has been a special joy. We are continuing to build and expand. Our staff retreat and annual reunion in August were blessed with Heavenly oil. Over 700 came for the three-day reunion and Bible Conference.
In His love,
Mike Patterson
PS: My anthology of 97 short stories from the mission field, My People, is now with the publishers and should be out this spring. Some will make you laugh, some may leave you with moist cheeks, but they are true to life and offer praise to our Lord Jesus.
