Bill Patterson: May 2013 Prayer Letter

Dear Praying Friends:

Earlier today, a dear friend told me that he was praying for us. Although I have heard those words many times and from many people, I do not take them for granted. Thank you so much for praying for us. Thank you for partnering with us as the Lord opens new doors for Bible translation, and keeps doors open for the work in Mongolia.  What a joy to see how God’s Word is being translated, verse by verse.

Recent Travels  During this last month, the Lord has given special grace and strength for all the travels. In addition to many hours of meetings with a Bible translation team and with a Bible society, I have also spoken in five churches in three countries.  Thank you so much for praying for God’s help.

Translation Report  Despite illness and other obstacles, the Lord graciously allowed us to reach a new milestone this last month.  Oyumaa has started the initial translation of Revelation, the last book. Of course, we have much work in twenty-two books, but we do thank the Lord for every victory on the road to reaching our goal. Please keep our team in prayer. Dashka’s family was ill, but now is improved.

Upcoming Meetings  In the next six weeks, we are scheduled to visit twelve churches. We will also be involved in Bible translator meetings in five different locations, including four meetings in South America. It has been very encouraging to see the recent interest in Bible translation, and we pray that God may use this to enable His Word to be translated into the many languages of the world. Your prayers in this matter are vitally important.
