Harold Gilmer: May 2014 Prayer lettter
Dear Brethren,
“I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work” (John 9:4).
Team Church Planting
We had quite a scare this past month with Mrs. Stephanie Lunday, the wife of our team leader, Missionary Sean Lunday, suffering a mild heart attack. She spent three days in ICU, but praise the Lord, she is already back home and back to Church. She needs further tests to determine the cause of her heart attack, therefore the Lunday are taking an early furlough, which means we will be overseeing Igreja Batista Nova Vida (New Life Baptist Church) for the next seven months. Your prayers are greatly appreciated, especially for the Lunday’s, during this time.
Praise the Lord with us for the provision of the $2,000.00 needed for the first official government documentation of the new Church in Vila Guacurí. Thank you for helping us carry forth this vision.
Bible Ministry
Our desire with the Bible Ministry is that people might hold the precious Word of God in their hands with the authority of “Thus saith the Lord.” Praise the Lord the 13,000 large print Bibles printed in South Korea arrived safely, being beautifully bound and printed, to the glory of God. But our hearts sank last week when we realized that two words were missing from a verse in the book of John.
We are proofreading these Bibles again and are seeking a solution for this situation with the printer before distributing these Bibles. Our hearts are comforted, for “. . . We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).
We are also preparing for the printing of 84,000 Bibles here in Brazil in months of June/July, and are also helping bring in one million John and Romans which will be distributed during the World Cup. Your prayers are greatly needed.
One more baby on the way : )
Rejoice with us—we have one more little one on the way! Please pray for Lílian´s pregnancy, at that this addition to our family will be to the glory of God.
Your servants in Brazil,
Harold, Lílian and Raphael Gilmer
