Bill Patterson: June 2018 Prayer Letter
One of the greatest joys in life is being surrounded by people who need your help … knowing that God will give you the strength to meet their need. Although there are times when trials rise up and attempt to strangle you with fear and doubt, the moments of victory strengthen your faith. God never abandons us as we “walk through the valley of the shadow of death.” He truly is a Good Shepherd!
A late-night text message woke me a few days ago and let me know that two of our missionary families in Nicaragua were facing life-threatening dangers. Multiple towns across their field of missionary service were being bombed, plundered by anarchists, and civilians were dying by the scores. Even now, few reports have made their way to the US regarding the situation. Please pray for souls to be saved during these difficult days.
Our older daughter, Heather, recently graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a degree in graphic design. At present, she is working at our home church, helping to design materials for them. Please pray that the Lord would open the perfect door for her as she seeks His will. Ryan is doing somewhat better with his Lyme’s disease treatments, although the last report was not as encouraging. His Lyme’s count has increased. Tricia is trying to finish up her eleventh grade of high school. She received enough funds for both the Missionary-in-Training Program and summer camp at The Wilds of North Carolina! Praise the Lord!
As of this month, Marcy and I have been married for twenty-four years. The day after our anniversary, we will be leading a group of teens and sponsors to Louisiana and New York for a missionary-training program. If the Lord allows, we hope to do something special later on in the summer to celebrate. God is so good to us.
A few days ago, I had the privilege of being at a Bible Translator’s Conference hosted by Dr. Ken Fielder and WorldView Ministries.
