Bill and Marcy Patterson: September 2020 Prayer Letter
Bill and Marcy Patterson – MABMI President, Church Planter, Bible Translator
We have all become the stars of a new reality show produced by COVID and company! A few months ago, I would have never dreamed of being on videos watched by thousands of people around the world. We have been introduced to multiple platforms of mass communication, and only eternity will reveal the results of our new forms of ministry. The Lord has opened the doors to preach and teach virtually in so many ways: virtual missions conferences, a virtual VBS in Texas, a virtual music conference in Mexico, virtual classes for the School of Bible Translation in Mexico, a virtual youth conference in California, and many more!
Personal Financial Needs: We have been advised to purchase a GoPro Hero 7 Black to assist in making videos. At present, these are available for under $300, and would greatly facilitate the making, editing, and distribution of the videos. When God allows, I also need to replace our five-year old laptop. Both Marcy’s car and our minivan have been plagued with visits to the mechanic. We are considering selling both and purchasing a lower-mileage vehicle for the two of us to drive. Finally, we have lost about $2200 in personal monthly support. Thank you for praying for these needs. God is able to supply!
Bible Translation News: A few days ago, we made the decision to postpone our planned trip to Mongolia for this October. Some will remember that our April trip was also cancelled. Current COVID restrictions require travelers to Mongolia to quarantine for five weeks upon arrival, including two weeks at a government-sanctioned hotel. Financially, this is not possible for us. The team there has continued to work faithfully despite recurring illnesses. Please pray that it would soon be possible for us to be with the team in Mongolia.
Family Update: Tricia, our youngest daughter, has just returned to West Coast Baptist College for her sophomore year. Ryan continues to live at home and is working in marketing and graphic design. Other than a short trip to see us in May, we have not seen Heather much this year. She continues with her graphic design work in the Washington, DC area. Marcy is in the final stages of publishing a children’s book which we hope to tell you about soon. It is exciting to see our children involved in serving the Lord. We are truly blessed!
Please keep us in your prayers!
