Bethesda Children’s Homes: May 2014 Prayer Letter

Dear Friends:

I am in cardiac rehab and progressing rapidly.  In fact, the doctors are permitting a visit to Mexico May 21-26.  My rehab makes it necessary to have a short stay.  Becky will stay another two weeks preparing things for shipping to our Tlapa apartment.

Children’s Day in most of Latin America is a big thing.  This year, the children had a special meal, gifts, piñatas and a special message on serving the Lord from their youth.  Marco reported that the boys and girls were just ecstatic.  They are so precious.

The Christian School will have its first graduation of the sixth grade.  Marquitos, abandoned by his mother, came to us at age four and will graduate.  He will continue his studies preparing for the ministry.

The church leaders in Tepeyac have been able to purchase property and will begin construction of the new church as soon as permits are given and the land title is secure.  Pray with me that this will be a speedy process…though in Mexico that seldom happens.

Girl’s Home directors, Miguel and Esther, will be adding a baby to their family in days.  Pray that God will bless both the mother and child and that He will grant wisdom as the raise their children for the Lord.  They are doing a marvelous work in the homes.

About three acres have been purchased for the new church in Tepeyac; this is the first step in rebuilding the flood ravaged mountain church.

Pray that, very soon, we will be able to be in Mexico on a more permanent basis.  I am in contact almost daily with the directors of the homes and our Mexican offices, but I long to be in Mexico on a more permanent basis training a new generation of preacher boys.

May God bless you is our prayer.  As our prayer partners, you not only make our ministry possible, but also breathe the hope of eternal life for generations to come.  Your reward will be abundant.

In His love,

Mike Patterson
