Tom and Linda Gilmer : August – September 2024 Prayer Letter

Dr. Thomas and Mrs. Linda Gilmer – Church Planter, Bible Translation in São Paulo, Brazil

Dear Friends of Zion:
Linda and I thank you for your prayers for my recovery from cancer surgery on my left earlobe. We are also grateful for your continued financial and prayer support for the past two months with numerous medical interruptions. We hope you like our updated picture (me, 83; and Linda, 80) made at Templo Batista de Indianópolis. We celebrated 58 years in Brazil, and the church celebrated its 57th anniversary.

Thank God for providing the funds needed for the Bi-Annual Bible Baptist Congress in Manaus. Pastor Marcos Antonio da Silva accepted the unanimous vote to continue as President of the National Bible Baptist Fellowship for two more years. This is his seventh term in that position. The Leadership Conference was also a tremendous blessing. Those who attended are looking forward to another such conference next year.

TRIBUTE TO SPECIAL PRAYER PARTNERS AND FRIENDS: CARTER AND LORITA SLOAN, missionaries to Brazil in the 1960`s, but for life-threatening health issues had to return to the USA. They continued serving the LORD (Carter as associate pastor and Lorita as church musician and Sunday school teacher), and supporting missions. Now CARTER is very ill. Please pray for these heroes of the faith.

May God richly bless you all.
Yours for the Messiah,
Tom and Linda Gilmer
