Harold and Lilian Gilmer – South America Director, Church Planter and Bible Translation in São Paulo, Brazil

Dear Brethren:
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void . . . (Isaiah 55:11a).

The Lord makes it happen!
“Team work makes the dream work”, but the Lord makes it happen! We are speechless at what God is doing at our Church. Pastor Uarlison has a true Pastor’s heart and the people can feel his love and see his zeal for the house of God.

The Lord provided ceiling panels through our fellow missionaries, Jon and Bev Leonard. We are so thankful to finally have a comfortable building to call our own, after meeting for five years in a tent. We are so privileged to have my parents, Tom and Linda Gilmer, serving with us, as they mentor and help the
other Churches they started, as well.

This past month we celebrated our ninth anniversary, with a baptismal service. So far this year, five adults and three children have called upon the Lord for salvation. This makes every effort worth it all!

As I mentioned last month, the whole point of sowing the Seed is for continuity and expansion. By working alone, one will but till his own garden; by working together, entire fields can be sown.

Our work is far from complete! Though we celebrated nine years since our first service, we are still officially a congregation of our first church. This plant has been very different from the first one in many ways, but the greatest being that the Lord grew the leadership before growing the Church. Pastor Uarlison was saved at our first Church and called to the ministry while there. It was at the Congregation that he and his bride completed seminary. It is most wonderful to plant a Church alongside the Pastor who is going to take the work forward. God is good!
