Bill and Marcy Patterson: Annual Report for 2021 (January 2022)
Sustaining Grace: On December 10, the Lord called my father, Dr. Mike Patterson, to Glory. Our family has been sustained once and again by God’s grace as we rejoice in the precious memories and lasting impact my Dad had on each of us. Thank you for praying for us!
Ministry Update: The Lord has blessed us, and we are grateful. Because of the investment made by our supporting friends, we were given the opportunity to preach and teach over 370 times. Even more importantly, we saw about 350 souls come to Christ and about 50 baptized. The Lord took us to 20 states here in the US. We were also in Mexico, Honduras, England, Bolivia, and Ecuador as we proclaimed the Gospel to 21 churches in those 5 countries. In addition to our other responsibilities, I will now be assisting my Mom in the leadership of the Bethesda Children’s Homes in Tlapa, Mexico. Your prayers are vital to this work.
Bible Translation Update: While we continue to work with our translators via the Internet, our pace has slowed down to a crawl due to restrictions and health issues faced by our translation partners. The opportunities for teaching Bible translation have increased significantly, and we spent eleven weeks of full-time teaching future Bible translators in six colleges here in the US and in Mexico, with over 150 students involved!
God’s Provision: The Lord continues to provide as His people keep praying. In addition to paying off the Buick we purchased last January, He has also provided a newer and dependable car for Marcy. Our support was steady as special offerings kept us above the average of the losses we faced in late 2019 and early 2020. We are truly amazed!
Family Update: Heather is planning to be married on April 11 to Mr. Joe Reyes in the Washington, DC area. Ryan has had no further problems from the Lyme’s Disease, and he continues to work in graphic design, often helping us at Mt. Abarim. Tricia recently let us know that due to working ahead, she now plans to graduate from West Coast at the end of 2022, a semester ahead of schedule. Marcy continues to speak to ladies and mentor the wives of Bible translators. The Lord gave me the best wife ever. We are truly blessed!
Please keep us in your prayers!
