Dear Friends,

Two very special events took place at the Bethesda Children’s Home in October. The first one was the first ever girls’ conference for girls twelve years old and older. The main speaker was Luz Maria Rivera from a church in Cuernavaca. The theme of the conference was “Woman: Divine Design.” The girls felt very special and loved by God. They enjoyed the conference and want us to do it again. There were at least twenty professions of faith.

Luz Maria told me I led her to the Lord during one of our Abarim conferences in Cuernavaca thirty-six years ago. I had forgotten about it, but she had not. Occasionally the Lord allows us to know the eternal impact we have on someone’s life to encourage us to keep going on for Him. He is so good! During the recent girls’ conference, I led two young teens to the Lord while the bells of the Catholic Church were peeling loudly. All I could say was, “Thank you, Lord!”

The second special event was the “Noche Tecolota” (Owl Night) starting October 31 and finishing November 2. Instead of allowing unsaved parents to take their children to the mountains to celebrate the very pagan Dan of the Dead, we had three fun-filled days at the Homes. Brother Marco Aviles divided the children into groups to represent the twelve tribes of Israel. Each group had to make a banner representing their tribe. They competed in sports activities, preaching, musical specials, missionary stories, Bible lessons, historical stories of their tribes, and so much more. It was a lot of fun for the kids but was also a learning activity for them. There is never a dull moment around here!

Some of our construction projects are close to being finished. As I woman, I want it done! god is teaching me patience. Please continue to pray that every need can be met. There is nothing our God cannot do! The improvements that have been made have made a big difference in the hygiene and comfort of the Homes.
